How MyProgress names and calculates load, fitness, fatigue, and workload. Decision support only — not medical guidance.
Core fitness model
Daily load feeds short-term fatigue (ATL) and longer-term fitness (CTL). Form (TSB) is the gap between them.
Load
Training load
Each supported activity gets a training-load score. Cycling prefers power-based TSS when data allows, otherwise heart-rate load. Trail running uses heart-rate load. Other sports are kept in history but excluded from load until supported.
In MyProgress: Daily load is the sum of trail and cycling loads that day. Zero-load days still advance ATL/CTL.
CTL
Fitness load
Chronic Training Load rises and falls slowly. Meaningful CTL usually needs at least ~42 days of history; 90+ days is preferred after a Strava import.
In MyProgress: 42-day exponentially weighted moving average of daily load.
ATL
Fatigue load
Acute Training Load tracks recent fatigue. When ATL sits well above CTL, form (TSB) turns negative and status rules may flag high recent load.
In MyProgress: 7-day exponentially weighted moving average of daily load.
TSB
Form
Training Stress Balance is CTL − ATL. Chart bands (fresh / balanced / building / high load) are decision-support zones on this scale, not diagnoses.
In MyProgress: TSB = CTL − ATL, rounded to one decimal.
Negative TSB is not automatically overtraining. Use it with ramp and your own feel.
Workload context
Extra ratios for the selected period. ACWR stays informational.
Ramp
Load ramp
Ramp compares total load in the selected window to the immediately preceding window of equal length. A sharp positive ramp is a common status warning input.
In MyProgress: ((current period load − prior period load) / prior period load) × 100.
ACWR
Acute:chronic workload
Acute:Chronic Workload Ratio compares short-term load to a longer baseline. MyProgress shows it for context alongside ramp and form; it is never treated as an injury probability.
In MyProgress: 7-day load ÷ average weekly load over the prior 28 days (chronic ÷ 4).

Monotony
Load monotony
Monotony is mean daily load divided by the standard deviation of daily loads in the period. Very high monotony can mean the week lacked easy/hard contrast.
In MyProgress: mean(daily load) / sd(daily load) for the period.
Strain
Training strain
Strain multiplies total period load by monotony. It highlights weeks that are both heavy and uniform, not just high volume alone.
In MyProgress: period total load × monotony.
